Technical Sales Professionals
We are currently looking to fill three full time technical sales positions. These sales professionals will fulfill our front line product promotion, prospecting, and sales requirements for new and existing customers. We are looking for professional representation of our extensive product line and solid reputation to the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing and / or communications (P.Eng. may be considered a plus).
  • 10 + years practical experience in selling custom built packaging machinery and conveying equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of motion control with respect to conveying product and materials.
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding in the relationship between mechanical and PLC controls design with packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Effective technical communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working within an ISO registered quality management system.
  • Solid industry relationships and reputation within our target markets.

Senior Mechanical Designer
General Conveyor is currently looking for a full time senior mechanical designer to fulfill the requirements of a machine design role. The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree (P.Eng. may be considered a plus).
  • 10 + years practical experience in the electro / mechanical design of metal built machinery and equipment.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Office.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of motion control with respect to conveying product and materials.
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding in the relationship between mechanical and PLC controls design with packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Effective technical and project management communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working within an ISO registered quality management system.
  • Experience working within project financial constraints.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Presentation skills.

The successful candidate would be required to present their technical arguments in support of their design features and benefits, to both internal and external customers.

Senior Controls Designer
The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Preparation of electrical designs for control panels, machine wiring and programming in conformance with customers and contractual requirements.
  • Detailing these designs for presentation using CAD software.
  • Selection of components and preparation of Bills of Material.
  • Application assistance for sales, production staff and customers.
  • Management of assigned projects from design phase through manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
  • Travel will be required for service, commissioning and maintenance activities.

Formal knowledge of electrical design theory and practice is required, as is a degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution. Minimum five years related experience with automated equipment and control systems desired. Proficiency with AutoCAD, HMI's, PLC's, VFD's, and integrating control equipment with an industrial network.

Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson
The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Preparation of mechanical designs in conformance with customers and contractual requirements.
  • Detailing these designs for presentation using CAD software.
  • Development and maintenance of standard drawings.
  • Selection of components and preparation of Bills of Material.
  • Application assistance for sales and production staff and customers.
  • Management of assigned projects from design phase through manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
  • Some travel may be required.

Formal knowledge of mechanical design theory and practice is required. A degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and knowledge of sheetmetal fabrication principals and equipment.

Service Technician
The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Installation, service, and trouble-shooting complex packaging lines and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC's, programming, motor control and field devices.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Travel to locations in Canada, USA and outside North America will be required.

Assembler/Fitter
The primary responsibilities, duties, and capabilities required in this important position are as follows:

  • Work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Assemble and test to required quality standards, a wide range of components, assemblies or systems.
  • Use common fastening techniques, welding, drilling, etc.
  • Some travel to customer locations, working directly with the customer when required.
